San Francisco and Santa Cruz

This score begins with my invitation to teach in these areas.
I am grateful to the women who I know in these cities.
This score is what I am intuiting. Let me know how it suits each of you.
And, of course, this score can be applied anywhere.

Bring water, journals, art medium of choice, sustenance.
Wear loose clothing. Bring percussive instruments if called to do so.

We begin by giving thanks to the sacred space that is housing our gathering.
We arrive nourished, relaxed and ready to receive the prayers we are seeking.
We invite our teachers and guides to be present and to help each us un-fold
the messages and knowledge and healing that we seek.

Together we create a safe space by reserving our judgements.
We enter the circle in confidentiality.
After these sessions be protective of the other members
by not telling their stories or sharing their names.
This honoring keeps each other safe on a psychic level as well.

Everyone please remain in the workshop.
If you need to leave please communicate that need beforehand.
It is preferable and least disruptive if all participants
can be on time and stay the entire sessions.
Exceptions always considered just communicate beforehand.

Introduction.
Exploring where you are in the "present moment".
Asking s'elf and sharing with circle what it is you are seeking from this gathering.

Personal stretching, warm-up. Then circle. sit posture, alignment, breathing.
Gentle, gradual movements, micro movements, facial stretching, mouth expanding.
Add sighs, vocalize breath, tones and sounds as a result of mouth shaping.

Movement unfolds expanding more of the body. Lengthening, stretching the limbs.
Continual focus on breath. Begin rolling, exploring all ways for body to make contact with floor.
Keep sounds happening.

A guided warm-up of body will continue exploring levels
and travelling through space. Solo awareness and awareness of each other.
Basic contact dance will be introduced.

Exercises will be developed and created in the moment
according to what was expressed during the introductoions.
As we strengthen our solo s'elves in movement and sound then
we move towards duo, triangle and group interaction.

Our movement and sounds and interactions or non-interactions
are metaphors for our inner and outer world.


Boundry Exercise
As we move through the world and explore new things
we need to make decisions and set boundries for ours'elves.
Setting boundries can be both a celebratory and necessary act.
This score helps us to explore what boundries we may need and how to physicalize
those boundries so they become an integrated part of our world.

Take a moment to explore within where you may desire a boundry
that would provide safety or discipline and direction in your life.
A boundry can be about saying "yes" or saying "no".
Is there something in your world that you have desired but have not said "yes" to yet?
Is there something in your world you desire but have not said "no" to yet?
Start with that inner s'elf reflection.

Starting from a still, standing position...relaxed, drop deep into the center of your body,
listen carefully for the voice that has been reminding you over and over
that there is something you need to do.
Just feel the energy of the voice. No need to mentalize with it.
As the energy begins to emerge allow it to channel through your body
and up through your vocal chords.
Stay in place while you allow those energy vibrations to fill your entire be-ing.
Once you feel fully engaged with this surge
allow the movement and sound to grow.
Slowly begin to travel through space. Let your body guide your journey.
Just by holding the original intent of un-covering your boundry voices
your dance will inevitably lead you to more knowledge.
Again avoid mentalizing. Trust your body to guide you.
Go on your dance journey.

Then we return, find closure with dance.
Reflect. Perhaps journal or sketch.
Circle and share insights.

We clarify the inner voices and messages, return to same exercise
and seek refinement of our dance and song.
Naming our experiences empower us.
We begin this next part by again standing still, relaxed...
drop into deep center of s'elf.
Feel the energy emerge again leaving the mental chatter to rest.
Feel the surge, the life force.
Allow the clarity of reflection make its' presence known.
Again we are allowing the body to feel and guide the dance and song.
Trust what wants to emerge. Know you are safe.
Allow yours'elf to take risks. Un-veil. Embrace fear. Love yours'elf.
Dance from your heart, soul and spirit.
Now we are soaring or roaring!
All is good!

We bring this dance to a close. We communicate our journey with each other.

Boundries With Others
We begin by rolling on the floor, reviewing our contact dance teachings.
Explore our skin and hu-mon hide making contact with the floor.
Roll our bodies gently and deliberately as we feel the weight
in our body parts shift from one side to another.

Begin rolling into larger space, exploring levels and reaching and stretching.
We begin to take space and start to travel.
As we travel begin to be aware of others in the space.
Allow our dance to continue and move around each other without making physical contact.
Develope a dance-trust relationship with each other by dancing closely yet not making contact.
Keep levels happening and then allow pauses and timing.
always keep sounds evolving.
After setting a secure space we begin to make very light contact. Brief and move on.
Have eye contact and through your body and intent acknowledge
respect and awareness of each other's boundries.

Begin to let the contact develope according to your readiness.
Find balance in your solo dance and interactive dance.
Give space to dance away and dance in with each other.
Give more weight, take more risk.
Be free and at the same time, know your boundries,
take your space and be empowered!

Jump Off Be The Fool
Once we are secure in our s'elf and we know and trust our inner voice we can "jump off" so-to-speak.
We, like a seed in the earth are always pushing against the tension so we can grow.
In our spiritual development and personal growth there is a healing tension
or perhaps a polarity that adds just enough elasticity to life to jolt us forward,
to offer the path of progress that is inevitable.
We take this time to go within and see if there are any voices that have been unheard.
We dacne them. We find the songs!

Now we travel big. We name the space around us.
We observe the space around us. We feel everything.
Our awareness gives us security.
We run. We jump. We shout. We roll fast. We absolutely stand still.
We push our edge until we go somewhere new.

Take time to recognize what in yours'elf is holding you back.
Name it. share it.
Then I'll design the personalized exercise for you.
Then I'll design the group exercise that enhances this release.
We will jump together and find the dancing fool within.
Release. Celebrate.
